About Contrary To Reason
Contrary To Reason began in September 2019 when textile artist Rachel had completed her full-time BA Hons in Textiles, and was seeking a creative income.
Contrary To Reason is a fresh and exciting Textile brand specialising in free motion embroidery and colour design, aiming to bring textiles to the forefront of the art world.
Based in East Yorkshire, Contrary To Reason continues to grow into distinctive art brand, and Rachel now also offers support to other creative brands in the form of consultation and design work.
Rachel is also regularly teaching Textiles for Feral Art School, and also hosts a range of one off workshops independently, as well as for many local organisations including East Riding Libraries, Ferens Art Gallery and Our Big Picture in Grimsby.
Rachel is also keen to write about the arts and textiles in particular, and has begun doing so for a range of publications, which you can see here.
Sustainability is incredibly important to the brand, and pieces are created with only the most sustainable materials, including recycled fabrics and as few plastics as possible.
All packaging is recyclable and compostable where possible.
