EAST YORKSHIRE LASS
13.5cm x 13.5cm, Machine embroidery on digitally printed cotton.
The fabric for this piece is made from some of my original marbling prints, which are scanned and digitally manipulated before getting printed onto organic cotton.
Digitally printing fabrics has many more environmental benefits than traditional fabric dyeing/printing processes.
The embroidery sketches out a map of East Yorkshire, with freehand flowers added.
This piece is stretched over a handmade wooden frame and backed with another of my signature marble prints.
